Able Electropolishing

QUALITY, EXPERTISE & INNOVATION

As the largest electropolishing specialist in the United States, Able Electropolishing has spent 70 years at the forefront of innovation in electropolishing to eliminate defects and improve the surface finish of critical metal parts, with microscopically precise and consistent results.

In close collaboration with clients in engineering – among others industries – Able has developed highly customized processes that produce the most precise, consistent and reliable results for a wide array of critical metal parts, with benefits that include:

  • Improved Corrosion Resistance
  • Deburring
  • Ultracleaning
  • Microfinishing
  • Resistance to Bacterial Growth
  • Microfinishing
  • Fatigue Life Improvement

Electropolishing for Improved Finish, Fit & Function of Critical Metal Parts

Electropolishing uses a rectified current and a chemical bath to remove a precise layer of surface material and eliminate defects for improved finish, fit and function of critical metal parts. With Ra improvement of up to 50% and the ability to remove microscopic burrs, cracks, heat treat tint, scale, EDM recast layer and alpha case (titanium), electropolishing ensures the highest quality surface finish for parts made from a wide array of alloys including stainless steel, Nitinol, titanium and more.

The Able Difference

We’ve earned the trust of engineers and manufacturers in some of the most challenging industries in the world. That takes more than innovation and state-of- the-art processes. It also means an attention to deadlines, efficiency, reliability and a tradition of continuous improvement. Our clients depend on us for jobs with no room for error. You can too.

Commitment to Our Customers

Our commitment to our clients’ success drives our work toward continuous innovation, down to the customization of our processes for each part, including on-site tooling, custom racking, custom chemical formulation and prototyping runs conducted on full production equipment.

We treat every single job as the critically important step that it is and our roster of clients worldwide shows the level of trust we have earned over seven decades of providing state-of-the-art solutions and unmatched customer service.

Passivation, pickling, and electropolishing are common metal finishing techniques – but not all finishing methods are created equal. In our latest guide, we explain the benefits of each, how the processes differ, and how to determine which process is right for your parts.
